CALBAYOG CITY -The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Regional Office 8 under the active leadership of LTFRB Regional Dir. Gualberto N. Gualberto, for the third time in Calbayog City, has launched another modern vehicle operated by CALMODA MULTICAB OPERATORS AND DRIVERS Transport Cooperative.

Hon. Dr. Christopher G. Corsiga as Representative of Hon. Vice Mayor Rey James Uy delivered his message to welcome everyone that was present in the remarkable event.

The said 6 modern units launched out of 14 units released will ply the routes for Calbayog- Bugtong & V.V. with 2 units of PUJ Class 1 f 2, Calbayog- Peña & V.V. with units of PUJ Class 1, and Calbayog- Malaga with 1 unit PUJ class 1, all equipped with CCTV, fully air conditioned, with FREE Wifi, OFG compliant, and with an Automatic Fare Collection System for a more convenient, safe, and comfortable transportation. The said modernized units are labeled by TATA Motors operated by Elite Tacloban Motor -Driven Cars Inc. represented by Mr. Allan Labita, Sales Consultant.

LTFRB Reg. Dir. Gualberto N. Gualberto, during his message personally thanked Congressman Hon. Edgar Mary Sarmiento, the Calbayog LGU for their active and continued support to the PUV Modernization Program and highlighted the advantages of modern vehicles as well as to the Land Bank of the Philippines for providing a smooth flow process to help the Cooperatives and Corporations.

Hon. Edgar Mary Sarmiento, Representative of the 1st District of the Province of Samar and Chairman, Committee on Transportation, gracefully delivered his message which centered the crowd’s attention and also mentioned to help and continue the progress of the Road Widening Project in support to the PUV Modernization Program.

Provisional Authority was awarded by Dir. Gualberto himself, and accepted by Mr. Teodolo T. Castañas Jr., Chairman of CALMODA. Chairman Castañas, who humbly thanked the people behind their success in joining the Modernization Program in his acceptance speech.

Speakers and members of CALMODA expressed their gratitude to the person behind the PUV Modernization Program, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, and DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade and LTFRB Chairman, Atty. Martin B. Delgra III for their tremendous determination to provide the public a better transportation system.

The PUV Modernization Program is the flagship, non-infrastructure project of the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte with the goal of providing a comfortable life for all Filipinos through a safe, reliable, convenient, affordable and environmentally-sustainable public transportation system in the country.

Our deepest appreciation also to Hon. Edgar S. Mary, Representative 1st District Samar, and Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino, Office of the Presidential Assistant for Visayas for taking pride and full support in the current administration in making this program possible.
